‘Globalist’ Mark Carney to replace Justin Trudeau as Canada’s prime minister

(LifeSiteNews) — Self-described “globalist” and “elitist” Mark Carney will replace Justin Trudeau as the prime minister of Canada.

The Liberal Party elected Carney as their leader with 85.9% of the vote, according to the Associated Press. “The other top Liberal leadership candidate was former Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, who received just 8% of the vote,” the AP reported.

A general election to decide if Carney remains prime minister must occur by October of this year. It is likely to take place before then.

Carney previously served as governor of the Bank of England and worked for financial giant Goldman Sachs. “In 2020, he began serving as the United Nations’ special envoy for climate action and finance,” according to the AP.

Carney has a history of embracing globalism and elitist positions.

“I’m connected, and I can deliver for the country,” he said on a podcast last month.“People will charge me with being elitist or a globalist, to use that term, which is, well, […] it happens to be exactly what we need.”

As LifeSiteNews reported last month:

Carney, whose ties to globalist groups have had Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre call him the World Economic Forum’s “golden boy,” has a history of promoting anti-life and anti-family agendas, including abortion and LGBT-related efforts. He has also previously endorsed the carbon tax and even criticized Trudeau when the tax was exempted from home heating oil in an effort to reduce costs for some Canadians.

Just recently, Carney criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for targeting woke ideology, and has vowed to promote “inclusiveness” in Canada.

Carney also said last week that he is willing to use all government powers, including “emergency powers,” to enforce his energy plan if elected prime minister.

Trudeau’s replacement has also previously said he considers himself more of a European than a Canadian.

“Carney wants to be the Prime Minister of Canada, but yet as recently as two years ago on the international stage, declared himself to be something other than Canadian,” Conservative Party of Canada MP Michael Cooper said in a recent video post to his X account.

“In a room full of globalists, at World Economic Forum in Davos, Carney declared himself to be a European,” Cooper said.

Cooper shared a clip of Carney proudly boasting at the WEF meeting that he has “European” citizenship.

“Let that sink in for a moment. Carney wants to be the Prime Minister of Canada, the leader of our great country, yet two short years ago identified as a European,” Cooper said, as previously reported by LifeSiteNews.
