Douglas Murray’s new book is On Democracies and Death Cults: Israel and the Future of Civilization, published by HarperCollins under its Broadside Books imprint. Yesterday was its official publication date.
Hugh Hewitt invited Murray to discuss his new book at length yesterday. I have posted the video below. The whole thing is worth listening to, of course, but I was struck at about 12:00 of the video when Murray observes: “The thing about anti-Semitism is that it shows up the weakness of the rest of society. Once you start getting into anti-Semitic conspiracies everything else follows. It’s a sign of societal breakdown.”
Murray’s observation brought to mind Tucker Carlson recent venture into the mystery of “The Unsolved JFK Connection” (as Carlson calls it) — the “unsolved connection” to the JFK assassination, of course. He ought to get out the tinfoil hat and start parading around his studio as he signals some kind of breakdown, societal or otherwise. Tucker also found the assassination a convenient subject on which to lie about Tom Cotton.
Tucker now blaming Israel for the JFK assassination, as if his objectives could get more clear https://t.co/K7u4WEaI8a

The signal is flashing. On the last day of the trial of Aimee Bock last month, I emerged from the federal courthouse downtown Minneapolis late that afternoon into a pro-Hamas rally taking place just outside the front door. Unfortunately, the skyway out of the courthouse was locked at that time. I found it chilling to be a Jew making my way through that crowd of keffiyeh-clad haters.
Our elite campuses make for a signal all by themselves. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke at Princeton yesterday. “Last night at Princeton,” Danielle Shapiro reports in her personal account at the Free Press, “Jewish students were called ‘inbred swine,’ told to ‘go back to Europe,’ and taunted with gestures of the Hamas triangle by masked protesters.” Jessica Costescu and Jessica Schwalb also report on the scene at Princeton in the Free Beacon story “Princeton Radicals Disrupt Event With Naftali Bennet, Yelling ‘Genocide’ and Pulling Fire Alarm.”
