I’m not sure what the Democrats were thinking when they made David Hogg one of their DNC Vice Chairs.
Now, the things he says aren’t just silly, but they become representative of the Democratic Party officially.
As I previously reported, here’s some of what he had to say about Maryland Democrat Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s meeting with illegal alien and alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
Yes, please, Democrats keep circling the drain, showing you care more about illegal aliens than about the American people.
Not only does he show incredible cluelessness about what the American people think, he’s also creating division in the Democratic Party with what his group “Leaders We Deserve” is doing, using $20 million to go after what he termed “ineffective” Democrats in the House. That’s hilarious because that would include virtually all of them, in my humble opinion.
That’s ticking off some Democrats big time, including James Carville, who called Hogg a “contemptible little twerp.”

But his explanation about it on CBS with Major Garrett was bizarre. The relevant part starts around 2:10.
He spoke about the question of messaging, saying, “You could have a great script,” but if you had “actors who were awful at their jobs,” it doesn’t matter how good the message was. Wow, isn’t that right on point that Democrats are actors reading a script? How dare you not deliver it as we want?
Then he claimed it wasn’t just about going after Democrats who were old, saying there were “great” older people like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Well, so much for any credibility he might aspire to have with that remark.
So Garrett asks him a very simple question: Name check for me an “asleep at the wheel Democrat.”
But Hogg didn’t even have the courage to say who they had in mind when they used the term.
He wimped out, saying the group was hoping this announcement would push those they’re thinking about not to run again. “I don’t want to have to do this,” he said. Like people are going to drop out because of him? That’s just pretentious and lame.
He did recognize they were in trouble, having lost ground with virtually every demographic. But then he’s doing all the wrong things to try to get it back.
Garrett pointed out the Democrat “experts” slamming these moves.
Matt Bennett from the Clinton-Gore era: “this is insane behavior.” John Anzalone, pollster most recently for President Biden: “$20 million should be spent on swing state legislative races, meaning state legislative races and down ballot, not on this.” Steve Schale, a Florida Democratic strategist, saying the DNC’s vice chair should be focused on this kind of engagement, meaning engaging in places in battleground states where Democrats have lost ground, not over which Dem in a plus-20 seat should be primaried and knocked out.
Hogg just blew them off, blaming them for “bringing us here.”
“Currently, if we had the same number of 25- to 30-year-olds in Congress as we do proportionally to the population, we would have over 40 people under the age of 30 in Congress, and I don’t know if you’ve looked at Congress recently, we have one that is under the age of 30. That is not good for the future of the Democratic Party,” he said.
He wants more clones of his age so they can really go off the rails. He claimed Biden was “as successful as he was” because he started at 29. Um, Biden was the worst person to occupy the Oval Office in history. That’s not “success.” You’re not successful because you’re young; you succeed or you fail because of good ideas and your ability to bring them to fruition. That’s sadly lacking in the Democratic Party, and that’s why the American people are rejecting them.
Garrett then cornered him, “So this is an age thing.” Hogg replied it was about finding people to “meet this moment” to “fight back against Donald Trump, like Sen. Van Hollen.” Now that’s hilarious. Again, he keeps defining the Democrats as “fighting back against Trump” — that’s all they have been for ten years, that’s why they’re being rejected. Then he highlights one of the stupidest Democratic moves ever, Van Hollen being tied to an illegal alien alleged MS-13 gang member. That’s what he’s praising.

This was the part that was perhaps most bizarre and got the most attention — when Hogg appeared to put down “democracy.”

“Democracy is what put us through school shooter drills and school shootings. It’s what’s put us through the climate crisis and so much more,” he said. Huh? I have no idea what he means here, and I’m not sure he does either.
But this is now the face of the Democratic Party. They are in such deep trouble.
