In the wake of Democratic Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s embarrassing excursion to meet with Kilmar Abrego Garcia which was captured in damning margarita photos, there had been other Democrats who supposedly were thinking about going. It’s like volunteering for an own goal or rushing to board a sinking ship, but they were still doing it.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) asked the House Oversight Committee to fund their trip. Chair James Comer (R-KY) just leveled them in his response, completely shutting them down and refusing to fund it with taxpayer money.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) had been talking about going but I’m not seeing anything further about that in the last couple of days. So perhaps he’s thought better of it.

You could have stopped reading at “a legal U.S. resident.” No, he wasn’t a “legal resident.” This shows you the worth of anything else she has to say, which is: zero. The fact that he was an illegal alien isn’t even in dispute. So this whole exercise is nonsensical to begin with because even if El Salvador let him go, he’s never going to be able to come back here and stay. He would just be deported somewhere else. So what exactly are they even doing here with all this performance theater?
Speaking of “constitutional crisis,” where was she when her party was covering up Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and making up constitutional amendments?
She claimed Trump was trying to “incite fear” and that “no one was safe in Trump’s America” — as she tried to incite fear about Trump’s deportations.

Who’s paying for it? Is she paying on her own dime to go and perform for the cameras or is she going on the American taxpayers’ dime? Did she go to Gaza to demand the return of the American hostages who were being held there by Hamas — you know, actual American citizens? I don’t remember reading about that.
At some point, you would think Democrats would learn that they were on a sinking ship on this issue. But it sounds like it’s not that point yet and some like Dexter want to go down with the ship.
