Worst News Outlet of the Week

We are at a point now where it has been informally established that the press will be consumed with a new media topic each week. Deporting a Columbia student, Tesla protests, tariffs, and others prior have all expended their five-to-seven-day cycle, only to be replaced by the next dire subject that promises to be the downfall of the nation.

This week, it was the plight of a poor, bedraggled “Maryland father” wrongly deported by the administration. Details such as Kilmar Abrego Garcia being an illegal immigrant, an alleged wife abuser, possible human trafficker, as well as being a twice-adjudicated gang member, were such minor details as to barely be worth reporting. Let’s start mucking around in the media swamps and see who took top (bottom) honors this week.

    THE CONTENDERS

ABC News — The network tried to deceive about the fire bomber who attacked Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s home, detailing only his opposition to Democrats despite also voicing complaints about Trump and the GOP, and avowing on social media to being a socialist. When George Stephanopoulos interviewed the governor in his burned-out home, the host strained to include the GOP as a culpable actor in the attack. In an awkward interview with Abrego Garcia’s wife, Michael Strahan held back when the clearly coached woman refused to answer questions concerning the restraining order on her husband. Jonathan Karl oddly addressed the tariffs controversy by derisively suggesting the plan is to turn America into a nation of cobblers

Associated Press – After a court ruled that the AP had to be reinstated into the White House press pool, the administration came back with a new announcement – no wire services at all would be permitted in the press pool. The news syndicate fought back against the defamation lawsuit it is facing over its reporting of the CNN defamation ruling in January, ignoring how the AP called Navy veteran Zachary Young a “smuggler.” Following the announcement of the defamation suit brought against AP, US News & World Report completely retracted the contested AP report that outlet had run.

New York Times – The paper’s Russian collusion expert Adam Goldman seemed rather upset the FBI placed a Russian collusion agent on leave. The paper is facing the reinvigorated defamation suit brought by former GOP vice presidential nominee and Alaska governor, Sarah Palin. Tuesday, in the Business section, there was a moaning lament about the conservative-owned Hobby Lobby opening a store in Manhattan. There were half a dozen reporters used in order to complain about the fact that, in the White House press room, new news outlets are being called on more often.

CBS News – Gayle King being included in the “all female” crew on the Blue Origin flight drew widespread mockery. This became more amusing as the network dedicated 21 times the amount of time spent on coverage than the length of the flight itself. In preflight coverage, one anchor was made to apologize for misgendering when he used the term “mankind,” In reporting on Abrego Garcia’s domestic abuse charges, they still referred to him as a “Maryland man.” In its report on the Harvard budget battle with the White House, it was said that if the money is cut off, people will die.

    WINNER

CNN

The network ran an insane Sunday evening special, where host Donie O’Sullivan interviewed Taylor Lorenz, who raved and swooned over the confessed assassin Luigi Mangione, and when faced with her unhinged opinions, he sat there and just chortled over her position.

Kaitlan Collins had herself a horrible week. She was publicly shamed in the White House, when she tried to ask sympathetically if Abrego Garcia would be returned. She was dismayed when no fewer than three administration officials and the president of El Salvador provided stone-cold facts for her.

Later in the week, Collins was again repudiated on the air by Tom Homan, again delivering narrative-busting details on the Abrego Garcia issue.

For reasons unclear, Jake Tapper sat in with the man who helped derail the Democrats in the election – George Clooney – and spoke about who the Democrats should run in the 2028 election.

Evan Perez “corrected” the claim that Harvard is a liberal university because Ted Cruz graduated from the school.

Another CNN narrative was blown up yet again by Harry Enten, this time that Trump voters regret their decision.

Watch the disturbing discussion with Donie and Taylor below, and have a grand weekend!
