Comedian Bill Maher and nationwide radio host/Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk agreed that the Democratic party will continue losing elections if it keeps ridiculously embracing the losing issue of men competing in women’s sports.
During the “Club Random” podcast, the leftist host and Kirk found common ground when they discussed how completely insane the Democrats have been when it comes to the issue of supporting trans-identifying males in female sports.
Kirk praised the HBO host for “being a liberal that acknowledges male-female distinctions,” adding, sarcastically, “what a concept.”
“Of course,” Maher replied before adding, “Of all the low-lying fruit that the Democrats just like hand the Republicans to win elections, that’s the one.”
“It’s so funny — I joked around with my team the other day,” Kirk responded. “I said, ‘Are they really going to just let us win every national election on this no men in female sports thing?’ Like, they can’t surrender on this one issue.”
Maher laughed, calling it “so ridiculous,” pointing out that you know it’s a losing issue when you appear to lose liberals like Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
“You lost Gavin Newsom on this,” Maher replied. “Okay, take that as a hint, right?”
The 2024 election and a recent New York Times poll showed the issue of men competing in women’s sports is an 80-20 issue, with Democrats on the losing side of the topic.
During the first episode of Newsom’s podcast “This Is Gavin Newsom,” the governor also sat down with Kirk while the two talked about how it’s not fair for men to compete in women’s sports.
“Well, I think it’s an issue of fairness,” Newsom told Kirk. “I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness, it’s deeply unfair. I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.”
The “Real Time with Bill Maher” host recently talked to Newsom about his apparent flip-flop on the issue, as previously reported.
“If the Democrats and 80 percent of the people are with you on this,” Maher said. “If the Democrats can’t get with this 8, how are they going to do something when it’s a 51-49.”
Newsom claimed he understood it’s a matter of fairness, but then accused the right of “weaponizing” the issue.
