Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff (D) voiced support for impeaching President Trump, after a woman screamed that he needs to “think outside the box” and have him “removed.”
Ossoff, speaking at a Town Hall event in Atlanta Friday morning, said he agrees with the woman multiple times but cautioned that in the current political environment, Republicans’ control of the House of Representatives hinders such extreme action.
The one-term Senator is considered the most vulnerable Democrat running in 2026 due to the political landscape and President Trump’s 2024 victory in Georgia.
“You keep saying that there isn’t a magic button, and I recognize that you’re a senator and not in the House, and everything that Trump is doing is leading us down an authoritative [sic] rule,” the woman began. “Why are there no calls for impeachment?”
“This is unacceptable,” she continued, voice rising in intensity. “I will not live in an authoritative country, and neither will any of these people. You can do more. Think outside the box. He needs to be impeached.”
The clearly distraught voter went on to say she “will not live like this” and demanded Ossoff “do something more.”
“I like you and I will vote for you if you are brave and you do what we need,” she concluded. “We need him impeached! We need him removed!”
Yeah, because impeachment constitutes thinking outside the box and would be a super-brave move. Nobody has ever thought of trying to do that before.
Rather than dismissing the notion out of hand or pivoting like most politicians would, Ossoff offered full-throated approval for the idea, even offering examples of alleged impeachable offenses and providing a roadmap by explaining that the first step is for Democrats to take back the House.

“There is no doubt that this President’s conduct has already exceeded any prior standard for impeachment by the United States House of Representatives,” Ossoff quickly responded to the woman and a gym full of mostly empty chairs.
Wait, you mean he’s gone above holding a phone call with a world leader and encouraging people to peacefully protest. Oh, my heavens!
Ossoff explained the alleged “high crimes and misdemeanors” Trump has engaged in since taking office.
“I saw just 48 hours ago – he is granting audiences to people who buy his memecoin,” the flabbergasted senator stated.
One can easily picture the world laughing at the United States as impeachment trials commence, charging President Trump with selling a meme coin with an incentive to buy by offering dinner to the top holders.
The dinner offer is a promotional tactic tied to a private cryptocurrency venture led by Trump-affiliated entities, not a direct act of governance or abuse of executive power. There is no evidence that Trump personally profits from the coin’s sales or that the dinner explicitly trades access for policy favors, which would be necessary to substantiate something like bribery.
I’d say, ‘Keep trying, Jon,’ but he did … immediately.
“There is no question that that rises to the level of an impeachable offense, and the reality is that that’s just one of many,” he continued. “Defying a federal court order, for example.”
“So, I agree with you,” added Ossoff, who later quantified that he “strongly” agrees with the woman.
Wonder why he didn’t call for Joe Biden’s impeachment after defying the Supreme Court on student loan forgiveness and eviction moratoriums.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) responded to Ossoff’s comments on social media, noting he is poised to be ousted from the Senate in 2026.
“Georgia will not allow Jon [Ossoff] to have the opportunity to impeach and convict President Trump because Jon Ossoff is going to be a one-term senator,” She wrote on X.

RedState reporter Bonchie explained that Democrats face another complex congressional election scenario in 2026, including Ossoff, who might face popular Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) because he is term-limited.
“If [Kemp] ends up the Republican senate nominee, I’d suggest it’s lights out for Ossoff,” Bonchie writes.
A poll earlier this year shows Kemp leading Ossoff by six points in a hypothetical Senate matchup.
Perhaps the impeachment talk is a means to motivate his rabid base to vote in the midterms.
