My RedState colleague Bonchie reported earlier on the incredibly disturbing story of a Wisconsin judge who was arrested Friday morning and taken into custody after allegedly shielding an illegal immigrant from arrest by ICE, who were waiting for the man outside of the judge’s courtroom.
65-year-old Hannah Dugan, a Milwaukee County Circuit Judge, stands accused of two U.S Code violations per the FBI charging document: “Obstructing or impeding proceeding before a department or agency of the United States” and “Concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest.”
The illegal immigrant in question, Mexican national Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, was reportedly in court a week ago on a pre-trial hearing regarding “three misdemeanor counts of battery/domestic abuse.” Witnesses say that Flores-Ruiz, 30, was able to evade arrest for a short time after Dugan allegedly let him and his attorney out through the jury door.
DOJ Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox News that Dugan allegedly did this “While the state prosecutor and victims of domestic violence are sitting in the courtroom,” waiting to present their case and testify, respectively.

As we also reported, Democrats are losing their minds over Dugan’s arrest, accusing the Trump administration of a “power grab” and creating a “constitutional crisis” by arresting a sitting judge. Vice President JD Vance, in turn, has had to remind these same Democrats what they’ve previously asserted about no one being “above the law.”
Something quite disturbing about the Democrat reactions to the situation is how some are outright admitting that not all the facts are known – and yet they are condemning the Trump administration anyway.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), for instance, wrote in part, “While we don’t have all the details, this is a grave step and undermines our system of checks and balances.”
This is not normal.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who was the lead impeachment manager during Trump’s second impeachment trial, said in a statement that “While all the facts aren’t in yet,” he was going to accuse President Trump of being an “authoritarian” anyway:
“Americans are watching with outrage the stunning news that Trump’s FBI has arrested a sitting judge in Milwaukee for alleged obstruction of an immigration arrest. While all the facts are not yet in, the implications of this arrest are chilling. This is a drastic escalation and dangerous new front in Trump’s authoritarian campaign of trying to bully, intimidate, and impeach judges who won’t follow his dictates. We must do whatever we can to defend the independent judiciary in America.”
So… “no one is above the law” Democrats don’t know all the details, but already know that “this undermines our system of checks and balances” and that this is an example of “authoritarianism.” This is from the same party that engaged in eight years of lawfare against Trump, impeaching him twice and then cheering as Joe Biden’s DOJ relentlessly targeted Trump, his eventual general election opponent – to try and hamstring his campaign.
The same party that has tried to thwart the concept of an independent judiciary by demanding to expand the Supreme Court and/or calling for the impeachment of its conservative justices on WrongThink grounds.
Just who is Raskin trying to kid here?
This is really dangerous. At a time when threats are escalating against Republicans and Tesla dealerships are being torched by domestic terrorists, instead of Democrats being willing to wait for the facts on this case, they’re inflaming their mobs by essentially saying they don’t give a rip about what the facts are.
Not that we didn’t know that about them already, considering everything they did to Trump during his first term in office and then after, but they’re doing it at a time when tensions are already sky high and powder kegs are close to being set off.
Thanks to Democrats having severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome, we’re on a dangerous collision course and a dark path if cooler heads don’t eventually prevail. I legitimately fear for our country right now, and while I don’t have all the answers, the problems are making themselves even easier to identify.
