The United States is under attack, not by a conventional military force, but by foreign adversaries who are infiltrating our institutions and using intimidation tactics on American soil to silence free speech. The recent bomb threat targeting Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Kennedy Center is not just an isolated event, it is a warning shot in a growing war on American values. This was an attack not just on a cultural performance, but on our nation’s core principles of free expression, religious liberty, and resistance to authoritarianism. If Congress fails to act, we are sending a clear message to our enemies that America is up for sale and our rights are negotiable.
Growing up under the Islamic Republic in Iran I have seen firsthand how authoritarian regimes silence dissent, manipulate the narrative, and use fear to control populations. In places like Iran and China, intimidation is not just a tactic, it’s their main governing principle. The CCP is now exporting those same oppressive strategies into America, infiltrating our society to undermine our freedoms from within. The United States has always stood as a beacon of freedom, but if we allow foreign powers to dictate what performances are allowed on our soil and who can speak freely, then we are no longer the land of the free, we are simply another regime under foreign influence.
I signed to serve in the U.S. Military because I believed in America’s mission: to defend liberty, to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, and to stand against tyranny wherever it rises but mainly to protect the American way of life. Our country has shed blood and sacrificed thousands of lives trying to bring freedom to nations around the globe. If we do not act now, we risk losing those freedoms here at home. Every soldier who has worn the uniform deserves a government that will fight just as hard to preserve the freedoms we swore to protect. We owe them that much.
And yet, our political leaders continue to turn a blind eye to the growing presence of foreign influence within our own borders. It’s no secret that China has been actively working to infiltrate American politics, media, academia, and business. But what happened with Shen Yun proves they have moved from manipulation to outright intimidation. This is not just a cultural issue, it is a national security threat. If the CCP can orchestrate a bomb threat on American soil without consequence, what’s next? Will our journalists be silenced? Will our elected officials be too afraid to speak against China’s growing power? The silence from Washington is deafening, and it is emboldening foreign adversaries to act without fear.
We’ve already seen how other hostile governments, like the Islamic Republic of Iran, have openly called for the assassination of President Trump. That was not just rhetoric, they attempted to make it a reality. When foreign governments feel comfortable threatening a U.S. President, what does that say about our ability to protect everyday Americans from foreign intimidation? Our enemies are watching. They are testing our resolve. And so far, Congress has failed to show any.
This cannot continue. Congress must take immediate action by launching a full-scale investigation into the CCP’s influence operations in America. We need to uncover who is behind these threats, who is being pressured, who is being bought off, and who in our government is allowing this to happen. We need public hearings, FBI investigations, and sanctions against those responsible. We cannot allow American institutions; our theaters, our press, our government, to be manipulated by foreign actors who seek to dismantle our freedoms.
Make no mistake: this is not a partisan issue. This is about whether America will remain free or whether we will cave to foreign authoritarianism creeping into our system. If Congress does not act now, we are telling China, and every other regime that seeks to undermine us, that they are welcome to dictate what we can see, hear, and say.
The American people deserve leaders who will stand up and defend our nation from foreign threats, not politicians who look the other way out of cowardice or corruption. This is a test of our national character. Will we stand firm, as we have for generations, against those who wish to suppress and control us? Or will we allow fear and foreign influence to dictate the future of our country?
We do not have the luxury of waiting. We must act now. Congress, you are on notice. The American people are watching. The world is watching. Do your job, or history will remember you as the leaders who surrendered America’s freedom without a fight.
