AG Bondi Announces Lawsuit Against Maine Over ‘Trans’ Athletes – RedState

Karma?

Remember Democrat Maine Gov. Janet Mills pompously sparring with President Donald Trump over her state’s refusal to stop the madness of males pretending to be females “competing” (beating the bejesus out of) females in female sporting events during a February Oval Office meeting with several other governors?

Yeah, so after Trump threatened to withhold federal funding from Maine over so-called “transgender” athletes, Mills smugly shot back, “We’ll see you in court,” to which the president smiled and calmly replied: “Good, I’ll see you in court. I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one.”

Welp, do tell.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Wednesday that the Department of Justice is filing a civil lawsuit against Maine’s Department of Education for “discriminating against women by failing to protect women in women’s sports” in what she said is a violation of Title IX.

Today the Justice Department is announcing a civil lawsuit against the Maine Department of Education. The state of Maine is discriminating against women by failing to protect women in women’s sports — pretty basic stuff. This is a violation of Title IX, The Department of Justice will not sit by when women are discriminated against in sports. This is about sports, this is also about these young women’s personal safety.

This is about sports; this is also about young women’s personal safety. I’ve met many of these women throughout the past weeks and months, and what they have been through is horrific.

We have exhausted every other remedy. We tried to get Maine to comply. We don’t like standing up here and filing lawsuits. We want to get states to comply with us. That’s what this is about. We have repeatedly notified Maine its infractions and urged them to remedy the situation to protect women. We’ve stripped grants from Maine through other departments, and we are going to continue to fight for women.

The insanity still hits me every now and then — as does the magnitude of the Democrat Party’s hypocritical irony. The so-called “party of women’s rights” continues to rally around larger, stronger males participating against smaller, less strong women in sporting events.

Moreover, when we call out the insanity, we are called everything from “haters” to “transphobic.” “Phobic”? Please. More like disgusted and outraged.

The Maine Principals’ Association, which governs high school sports in the state, said in February that it would continue to allow “transgender female athletes” to compete. The association’s executive director, Mike Burnham, said it would follow the Maine Human Rights Act, which bars discrimination based on gender identity.

Yes, that last line is insane.

Meanwhile, see you in court.
