Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, fresh off his private jet visit to Coachella with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, took to NBC News’ “Meet the Press” Sunday to promote his usual socialist philosophies and lecture us about the evils of capitalism—although he’s now worth millions and owns three houses.
He did get one thing right, though: Democrats are adrift. He started out with his usual laundry list of complaints:
“You have Democrats appropriately, and I’m working with them, talking about Trump’s movement toward authoritarianism, vigorously opposing the so-called reconciliation bill to give over a trillion dollars in tax breaks for the 1 percent and make massive cuts to Medicaid, nutrition and housing, opposing what Musk is doing to dismember the Social Security Administration and the Veterans Administration, making it hard for our veterans to get decent health care or benefits on time,” Sanders told NBC News’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press.”
But then he admitted reality (emphasis mine):
“We’re on the same page, but what Democrats lack right now is a vision for the future,” he added, following up his statement with questions about fixing “a broken health care system” and increasing the minimum wage.
The Bern’s remarks start at the 4:45 mark:

Sanders also came to the conclusion that the majority of American voters did in November: the Democrats have abandoned the working class.
“Those are some of the issues that need to be discussed,” Sanders said.
In the wake of November’s elections, Sanders accused the Democratic Party of significantly ignoring working class priorities, pointing to it as the largest reason behind Democrats’ loss of the White House and Senate.
“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” Sanders said in a statement at the time.
“While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right,” he said.
Yes, you hit the nail on the head, Bernie. All your proposed policies are wrong and would slide our country ever closer to a socialist nightmare, but you are correct that the Dems have abandoned regular Americans in the name of woke, in the name of DEI, in the name of men playing in women’s sports, in the name of a war on energy, and so much more.
I don’t think you and AOC are the ones to fix this—if it can be fixed—but the Democrats have become so unmoored and rudderless that they seem almost irrelevant at this point. Here’s their reality:

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, as the saying goes. Bernie is wrong on just about everything, but he nailed it here. The Dems have no vision for regular Americans.
Editor’s Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
