Compares Law Firms Signing DEI Deal With Trump to Nazi Regime Collaborators – RedState

Democrat strategist and Clinton creature James Carville sure seems to bounce from absurdity to absurdity lately. The re-election of Donald Trump for his Grover Clevelandian non-consecutive second term seems to have sent him, well, more than a little over the edge.

In his latest enraged outburst, he has proven (again) Godwin’s Law, in that he is accusing law firms giving up their DEI practices to collaborators – with the Nazis.

Yes, really.

Democratic strategist James Carville on Friday compared law firms that signed a deal with President Trump to Nazi regime “collaborators” in Europe.

Several firms tied to past investigations of the president have agreed to forgo diversity, equity and inclusion hiring practices in line with Trump’s executive order and donate millions to causes of his choice through legal aid.

“Maybe you need to go in history and see what happened in August of 1944, after Paris was liberated. They didn’t take very kindly to the collaborators,” Carville said in a Friday recording of Politicon.

That sounds an awful lot like a threat. OK, that was a threat. In France, in 1944, collaborators weren’t exactly just taken aside and given a good stern talking to. Women who… dealt with the Germans were stripped in the street, had their heads shorn, and were often beaten. Men were usually just shot in the head.

Is that what Carville is suggesting should happen to the members of these law firms?

Oh, but he’s not saying it should happen. Just that it will happen. Well, that’s all right then.

“No, it was not a very pretty sight in the streets of Paris. I’m not saying that these people should be placed in pajamas and have their heads shaved, marched down Pennsylvania Avenue, and spit on. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that, that did happen,” he added.

They weren’t just spit on, James. A lot of them ended up dead. A lot of them ended up being driven out of Paris. Are you sure you know what you’re saying here?

I’m Worried About James Carville, Being That He Is All Over the Board on Trump in Just the Past Week

This is dangerous talk. The left loves to characterize anyone to the right of Chairman Mao as a Nazi because, as they see it, who could object to beating up a Nazi – or worse? It’s a dehumanization tactic, and that kind of thing never ends well. In this case, with the left in the United States being what it is, any conflict between left and right wouldn’t end up anywhere near what the left would like to think it would.

James Carville’s been around long enough that he should know this. But he wasn’t done issuing threats yet.

Carville said Trump’s actions are creating moral issues that the country will have to reckon with after he leaves office.

“When this is over, there has to be, at a minimum, an intellectual reckoning with this class of appeasers that are here,” he said.

Granted, not that many people pay too much attention to buggy old James Carville anymore. He’s a Clinton creature, and aside from Her Imperial Majesty Hillary I, Dowager-Empress of Chappaqua, and her occasional forays to try to recapture some attention, the Clintons’ day is done. But he’s making some really unhinged statements here, and he should reflect for a moment on the old caution about being careful what he wishes for.
