After a record-breaking number of migrants crossed the Channel yesterday, GB News asks its members if Britain has lost control of its borders for good
Around 700 migrants arrived in UK waters yesterday, surpassing the previous one-day record of 656 asylum seekers on Saturday.
GB News recorded the provisional figure which took the overall figure for 2025 so far up to nearly 9,000.
The figures are around 40 per cent higher than the 6,265 who crossed at this point last year.
In a damning assessment of Sir Keir Starmer’s commitment to smash the gangs, a senior maritime security source told the People’s Channel: “This is an absolute disaster for Labour’s border security policies.
“We’ve been shown a number of successes recently, in terms of the National Crime Agency and other law enforcement agencies making numerous arrests of suspected people smugglers.
“But the fact is, we’re not seeing the gangs smashed, we’re seeing all previous records for migrant crossings being smashed.”
