RCP’s Tom Bevan read Daniel Strauss’s Intelligencer interview with Tim Walz while RCP has posted an accessible version here. Tom has done the hard work and extracted the comedy gold with Walz’s self-assessment: “I told the vice-president, I said I know my strengths and weaknesses. I said about 90 percent of the time, I can be really good, but about 10 percent of the time, I can be a train wreck because I’m speaking from the heart, like a teacher sitting in a teachers lounge or a laborer [?] sitting at the break table.”
“I can be a train wreck,” according to Walz, because he’s “speaking from the heart.” Like the job applicant asked to describe his biggest flaw, he just cares too much. In this case, it must have worked on Harris and her team. It’s almost funny.
Tim Walz says he told Kamala Harris 90% of the time he’s “really good” but 10% of the time he’s a “train wreck.” Critics would say it was the opposite. pic.twitter.com/eVcdyeQvlp
