Brooke Hogan, the 36-year-old daughter of former WWE star Hulk Hogan and his ex-wife Linda, has responded to a tearful video her mother posted on social media lamenting that she hadn’t seen her family in years.
Brooke shared a lengthy Instagram post that detailed her version of events. “I try very hard to ignore issues surrounding my family, in hopes I might have peace in my life,” she shared to social media.
Brooke’s lengthy statement was a response to her mom, Linda, sharing a tearful video detailing what she called the breakdown of her family. Linda and Hulk Hogan were married from 1983 until 2009.
“It’s been 15 however long years since I left Hulk Hogan, and my family is the worst mess,” she said in her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, per People. “Brooke doesn’t talk to us. She had twins, she got married [and] she didn’t tell us,” she added.
Linda claimed Brooke stopped talking to her when she cut contact with her father. “I don’t know how that reflected onto me, but she cut me out, too,” she said. Linda and Hulk also share a son, Nick, who Linda says she does still speak with.
Linda also mentioned some alleged issues she had in her relationship with the WWE star. “I have to be honest about what I went through in my marriage,” she said. “And what it entailed and what it caused over the years.”
“He’s a complete liar. He’s a sex addict,” Linda claimed. “I’ve given him more opportunities to come back and make up the family. It’s been 20 years and I’m still this sad. Somebody please explain that.” She also said, “I do love living alone. I don’t ever want to be married again after him, trust me.”
In a new social media post, Brooke addressed the “concerning” video her mom posted, saying it made her “feel the need to address the tip of a very large iceberg that is my immediate family.”
“What I’m about to say is not pointed at either person. It is my own personal truth, and you can do your own math,” she wrote.
“I have been EXTREMELY verbally and mentally abused since childhood,” Brooke continued in the post. “Sadly, it would frequently turn physical. And sometimes it’s not by the person you would assume, abuse comes in all shapes and sizes.”
The former reality show star said she has “completely separate reasons for going no contact” with both her parents that have “nothing to do with each other.”
“Each individual, on their own, has given me more than enough reasons over the years to make this extremely hard and painful decision to end contact,” she added, saying she felt like a “pawn.”
Hulk married yoga instructor Sky Daily in 2023. Brooke discussed her reasons for not attending the wedding at the time, saying, “For my own journey to healing and happiness, I have chosen to create some distance between myself and my family, am focusing on people and things that heal my heart and align with my own personal beliefs, goals, and values.”
“I wish him well,” she added.
