Jasmine Crockett Breaks Down Crying As MSNBC Host Reminisces With Her Before Show Gets the Hook – RedState

Representative Jasmine Crockett broke down crying after she and MSNBC host Katie Phang reminisced about Crockett’s past “advocacy,” as “The Katie Phang Show” is slated for cancellation.

Phang played a clip of Crockett (D-TX) from her days as a state representative in the Lone Star state and thanked the congresswoman for her support of “democracy.”

“Well, Texas state representative Jasmine Crockett, thank you for being here. And thanks for all of your advocacy,” Phang says in the old clip from three years ago, Crockett’s first time on Phang’s program.

MSNBC announced back in February that Phang’s show would be cancelled.

“I wanted to thank you for always getting up early and delivering it,” the host said after the video, noting that it is now her second-to-last episode. “But I also want to say thank you for your continuing support for democracy.”

“It’s definitely something that you have made your brand, and it’s the integrity that you’re bringing. And I’m grateful for you always.”

The kind and fawning words clearly moved Crockett.

“We’ll miss you,” she was barely able to utter, wiping away tears.

“You can’t have me crying at the beginning of a show, Jasmine,” Phang replied, waving her hands in a futile attempt to dry her eyes. “Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, you’re not – You haven’t seen the last of me.”

Funny that Phang would play a clip from Jasmine’s state representative days and mention the words “advocacy” and “democracy” in the same breath.

Some may not recall, but Crockett was part of the contingent of Democrat lawmakers who fled the state of Texas in July 2021 to prevent a vote on Republican election integrity bills.

According to the Houston Chronicle at the time, Crockett was “one of the earliest to depart” during the stunt after Republicans in Texas had won sweeping election victories and were, as was their right, trying to pass legislation.

Crockett and the Democrats left the state for 38 days.

But she supports democracy … or something.

As for the “integrity” that Crockett is “bringing,” according to Phang, the cryfest was preceded by the Texas lawmaker claiming President Trump is more dangerous than alleged MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

“Here’s the reality,” Crockett told viewers. “As far as I’m concerned, he’s a lot less criminal than the person that’s sitting in the White House, because last time I checked, he doesn’t have any criminal convictions.”

That’s what passes for integrity on “The Katie Phang Show.”

When Phang announced that her show had been cancelled back in February, she told fans, likely in an amount you can count on your fingers, that she was “stunned” by the move.

“Since the show launched in 2022, the goal was to share with my viewers important conversations with brilliant guests whose insight and analysis elevated the discussion, especially with the constant breaking legal news,” she said in a statement posted to X.

Crockett is rarely defined as someone who elevates discussions.
