Love Is Blind … and Intolerant Too, Apparently

Fellas, if a woman grills you on George Floyd, would you still marry her?

While the rest of the country experiences a vibe shift toward diversity of thought, two women on “Love Is Blind: Minneapolis” are stuck in the past, letting their scruples get in the way of marriage.

(Spoilers ahead for “Love Is Blind: Minneapolis.”)

On Friday’s episode of the Netflix reality dating show, two brides left their grooms at the altar. Their reasons? The grooms held neutral to slightly-traditional views on social issues—from views on Black Lives Matter to the COVID-19 vaccine and beyond.

“I asked him too, like, what his church’s views are, and he said he didn’t know. So then I watched a sermon online about sexual identity, and it was traditional,” said one bride, Sara, as to why she did not go through with her marriage.

“Devin said he was raised in a conservative household, and he just asked me if I voted with my faith in mind,” said another bride, Virginia.

“I still don’t feel really comfortable saying Devin’s views, but I’ll tell you about mine. … I believe that women should have the decision to choose if they want to have an abortion or not,” she said in the reunion episode, explaining to an audience why she ultimately said “no.”

The demise of these relationships beg the question: Are liberals really more “tolerant?”

It is one thing to pick and choose partners based on fundamental values, but a completely separate thing to reject a partner over opinions on petty social justice issues—some of which will most likely never have a tangible effect in these people’s lives.

Liberals, Joe Biden, and the Democratic Party promised the country unity and strength in diversity, but conservatives and President Donald Trump are delivering on that promise. Trump’s comeback was a sign that Americans are sick of superficial identity politics.

America moved on, but leftists didn’t.
