I thought Christopher Steele’s “dossier” on President Trump was unmitigated baloney from the moment I read it. I must have written more than 100,000 words about it and its celebrants on Power Line. To take just one example, I devoted a long five part series to mocking Jane Mayer’s hagiographic New Yorker profile of Steele in the series I called “Jane Mayer’s Dossiad” (think Alexander Pope’s Dunciad). My five-part critique holds up slightly better than Mayer’s endless fangirl effusions.
Steele is, somehow, back. Did he ever go away? He turned up on a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored.
A couple of guests talked back to him. In his response Steele lauded himself as a professional intelligence officer. He also claimed that he never worked for the Clinton campaign and that he never had any contact with the Clinton campaign. He was just working for a Clinton campaign cutout! I guess that’s the way “a professional intelligence officer” does it.
“You represent the ultimate grifter!”
Natalie Winters and Christopher Steele clash over whether the Trump dossier was released to “collude” with the 2016 Clinton campaign and “tank America First”.
