NPR should be better known as DSR: Democrat State Radio. The appearance of NPR chief executive officer Katherine Maher gave rise to many highlights, including all those that John posted here last night.
The 22-second clip below derives from Rep. Pat Fallon’s interrogation of Maher. NPR suppressed coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop story when it mattered. Now Maher allows that mistakes were made.
NPR CEO Katherine Maher insists “NPR acknowledges that we were mistaken in failing to cover the Hunter Biden laptop story more aggressively and sooner” and that, on COVID origins, “we acknowledged that the new CIA evidence is worthy of coverage and have covered it.” pic.twitter.com/fLbC4iLFnq

Five years later, now it can be told. Woo hoo!
Why now? Because the winds have shifted and because the story no longer matters. NPR to the contrary notwithstanding, everyone knows it. NPR deserves a Duranty Prize for its work on behalf of the Biden 2020 presidential campaign.
Ms. Maher regrets NPR killed the Biden laptop story. Maher’s testimony performs an unironic variation on Cole Porter’s “Miss Otis Regrets.” Miss Otis regrets she’s unable to lunch today because she killed her lover…well, you know the rest of the story. Unlike Miss Otis, however, NPR has suffered no consequences.
