Officials at a US airport said a private plane crashed near the air hub on Friday morning. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that two people were on board the private plane that crashed near Pitt-Greenville Airport, in North Carolina.
The airport is used for general aviation as well as commuter service by American Airlines. The crash reportedly prompted the closure of a road near the air hub, W Belvoir Road.
The entrance to PGV & Memorial Drive in Greenville are also closed, according to local reports. The Greenville Police Department said they are providing scene control in the area of the incident.
