So, what a difference one year in the United States of America can make.
If you do not recall, and I don’t blame anyone if you washed your brain with bleach to forget what nonsense Joe Biden made during Easter of 2024, it was somewhat laughable and also incredibly stoooopid.
My colleague Nick Arama had the guts to dive into the Biden cesspool of dumb last year with this post, Biden’s Special Proclamation for Easter Sunday Isn’t About Easter – It’s About Transgender Visibility Day
From Nick’s musings…
Joe Biden seems intent on ticking off Christians on the holiest day of their calendar year.
As we reported earlier, the White House “recognized” Easter by forbidding kids in the Easter egg design contest from using any religious symbols or themes for their eggs. That’s crazy when you’re talking about a religious holiday. Plus it raises questions when you have the government discriminating against religious symbols/themes.
But apparently, they weren’t quite done yet. Some folks also noticed the proclamation they put out on Good Friday to recognize the special day on March 31. Except the day that the White House and Biden were recognizing with the proclamation wasn’t Easter; it was Transgender Visibility Day.
What type of mental midget would skip right over bunny rabbits and go right to transgender celebrations on the day that CHRISTians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ?
Your answer is… Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., or whoever was controlling the auto pen at the time.
Jill?
Hunter?
I have no idea why he dropped out of the race for president in 2024.
Thankfully, there is now someone in the White House who gets the reason for the season, and to paraphrase him at the not-a-State-of-the-Union Speech a couple of months back”
“All we needed was a new President.”
From Donald Trump Sunday morning on Truth Social:
Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane, and well known MS-13 Gang Members and Wife Beaters, back into our Country. Happy Easter also to the WEAK and INEFFECTIVE Judges and Law Enforcement Officials who are allowing this sinister attack on our Nation to continue, an attack so violent that it will never be forgotten! Sleepy Joe Biden purposefully allowed Millions of CRIMINALS to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, through an Open Borders Policy that will go down in history as the single most calamitous act ever perpetrated upon America. He was, by far, our WORST and most Incompetent President, a man who had absolutely no idea what he was doing — But to him, and to the person that ran and manipulated the Auto Pen (perhaps our REAL President!), and to all of the people who CHEATED in the 2020 Presidential Election in order to get this highly destructive Moron Elected, I wish you, with great love, sincerity, and affection, a very Happy Easter!!!
I have a feeling the vast majority of Americans aren’t going to miss Transgender Visibility Day and the celebration it never inspired.
Now, getting back to why this time of year is very important to those of us who are Christians and believe in the Divinity of Jesus Christ, His sacrifice, His death, and His resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Many moons ago, I wrote about Good Friday, and a couple of years back, during the tail end of COVID, I wrote about the Saturday before Resurrection Sunday and how confusing it must have been for the followers of Christ.
Holy Saturday Was the Longest Saturday Ever for the Apostles of Jesus Christ
A brief snippet…
If you’re unfamiliar with “The Passion of the Christ,” it chronicles the last 12 to 15 hours of Jesus Christ’s life before he is crucified on the cross. The movie is graphic and shows how the Romans treated prisoners back in that day. However, it also features flashbacks of Christ recalling some of his teachings to the apostles, which are told in the Holy Bible.
The movie ends with Christ being lowered from the cross, and then a brief scene of him standing up in the Tomb on Resurrection Sunday. Last year after watching the movie, this got me wondering what the apostles did on the day between the crucifixion and the resurrection.
The person that you had followed for several years could heal anyone put before Him, had raised individuals from the dead, and also had walked on water. Yet, He was murdered by the hated and despised Roman authorities, who were mere humans. They must have been so incredibly confused, as I write in the article above, and I admit I would have been also.
Writing about politics and having a radio show that mostly talks about politics, you come across opinions of people that don’t line up with yours. I’m 100 percent good with that and generally try to stay friendly with people that aren’t dye in the wool schmucks that lots of political types can be.
I have several friends who are atheist and/or agnostic, and we have some spirited discussions that I strive not to take personally about their lack of belief in Jesus Christ’s divinity and His resurrection after His horrible crucifixion at the hands of the Romans.
The burial cloth of whoever that material covered at one point has been the subject of debate and speculation for many hundreds of years. It has also been passed around and held up by Christians believing that it was the material that covered Jesus’ body for the three days while He lay in the Tomb.
I don’t want to call it my secret weapon in discussions with non-believers because it’s not a secret at all, but the part of the puzzle that has confounded both believers and non-believers is the Shroud of Turin.
Yet to be clear and honest with everyone here, I 100 percent believe that the shroud covered the body of Jesus Christ after He was taken down off the cross and laid into the tomb until His resurrection on Sunday morning.
There have been endless studies done that have raised questions about the cloth and have also answered any doubting Thomas’ questions about the burial cloth of Jesus. You can find anything to fit your point of view by doing a very simple Google search with its millions of responses to scratch whatever itch or lean in whatever direction you’re looking to.
One of the more interesting experts I have found recently is Dr. Jeremiah Johnston, who was on a podcast talking about his new book, Body of Proof: The 7 Best Reasons to Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus. I have not yet read this book, but his quote is what I used above in the title of this article about Jesus leaving us a selfie, which I thought was stellar. I found the show to be enlightening, and you can listen above by clicking on his name.
So why don’t other pieces of cloth used in the same time period that have covered numerous people over the ages have the same characteristics or faceprint that the Shroud of Turin exhibits?
Why has no one who believes in “science” and is a critical, knowledgeable skeptic of a God who created the universe been able to explain something as simple as a print of a grown man’s face from close to 2,000 years ago?
It’s not a painting.
So what is it?
It is so simplistic that some of my atheist friends think I am off my rocker for believing it as I do. Yet they have no answers for how the shroud came to be as it is today.
The shroud is the actual burial cloth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who walked on this Earth over 2,000 years ago, and as Dr. Johnston said above, left us the very first selfie.
I’m glad my risen savior has a sense of humor and is alive today watching (some) of His creations spin themselves into a dizzying stance on this one topic that is confounding for those with no faith in Him.
Amen.
Happy Resurrection Sunday, everyone!
