I haven’t written anything about the infamous Signal Chat that now seems to be dominating the news, which is perhaps the most overblown story since the Steele dossier. At this point the facts are still coming out, but in the meantime I have a few observations:
1. The Obama and Biden administrations leaked to left-wing journalists on purpose. The Trump administration only does it accidentally.
2. It is hilarious to see Senator Chris Murphy suggesting that including rabid Democratic Party journalist Jeffrey Goldberg on a chat may have violated the Espionage Act. Where was Murphy when Democrats were leaking actual classified information to our nation’s enemies on purpose?
3. The most salient fact here, one which the Democrats prefer not to mention, is that after years of passivity under the “Joe Biden administration,” the Trump administration has actually bombed the Houthis. This is a great deal more significant than Jeffrey Goldberg sneaking into a chat, but nobody mention that to the New York Times.
