Princess Kate’s awkward Mother’s Day blunder that led to rare royal apology | Royal | News

Like most mothers across the country, Princess Kate is set for a special day today as she marks Mother’s Day with her three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. While it is not known how the family plans to spend their day, Kate is likely to be spoilt by her nearest and dearest on her first Mother’s Day since her cancer battle last year.

While the day will be special for the family, it will also most likely remind Kate of the awkward blunder last year that saw the princess issue a rare public apology. This came after Kensington Palace released a photo of the princess with her three children George, Charlotte and Louis, taken by Prince William. While the photograph at first delighted royal fans, many were quick to spot that some things just weren’t quite right.

This is because certain parts of the photograph appeared strange, including the fact part of Charlotte’s sleeve was missing and certain areas of the photograph were blurry.

This led to a number of picture and news agencies issuing a kill notice on the image, removing it from their publications as a result of the fact it had been digitally manipulated.

Not only was this an awkward blunder for the family, but it also led to a number of wild theories surrounding Kate and her health, leading to the princess releasing her own statement to address the concerns surrounding the picture.

In the statement, Kate revealed she had made minor edits to the photograph of herself and her three children.

She said in her statement: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

The princess and other members of the Royal Family have not addressed the situation since.
