Between the Mahmoud Khalil and Kilmar Abrego Garcia cases, Democrats seem hellbent on getting destroyed in the 2026 midterms, as evidenced by the dangerous games being played and theatrical stunts being pulled on behalf of both of them.
For instance, there was the news this week that several Democrat Senators were arranging for a trip to El Salvador to try and get “Maryland man” Garcia, a suspected MS-13 gang member, brought back to the United States.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) has perhaps been the loudest among them, calling Garcia, who is an illegal immigrant, his “constituent” and vowing to bring down the thunder in order to return Garcia back to Maryland.
“I have not heard back from the president of El Salvador…I do intend to go to El Salvador this week to show solidarity with” Garcia and his family, Van Hollen told CNN Tuesday, where he also alleged without evidence that Garcia was “abducted” before being transported to the CECOT mega prison.
Many Americans who are no doubt disgusted by Van Hollen’s actions likely remember an actual constituent of his, Rachel Morin, a mother of five who was brutally sexually assaulted and murdered by an illegal immigrant in the summer of 2023 while she was jogging along a Maryland walking trail.
Her rapist and killer, El Salvador native Victor Martinez-Hernandez, illegally entered the country under the Biden-Harris administration. Martinez-Hernandez was found guilty Monday by a jury, so it’s already been an emotional time for the Morin family.
But seeing Van Hollen parade in front of the cameras as though he were a hero for all Maryland residents was just too much to stomach for Ms. Moran’s mother, Patty Morin, who did an interview with Sean Hannity Tuesday and blasted off on Van Hollen after Hannity asked her if Van Hollen had ever reached out to her and her family:
“Actually, I’m very angry – actually outraged, but I’m too sad at the moment to show anger at the same time. [Van Hollen] did not call our family. He did not give condolences. There was no action on the Democratic Party in any way, from Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mayorkas, anyone here in Maryland. None of the senators did anything to help search for the murderer of my daughter.”

That’s just 50 shades of unacceptable, and if Van Hollen had any shame, he should feel it big time right about now.
But he doesn’t. Really, it doesn’t appear that any one person in the Democrat Party, at least among Congressional Democrats, is capable of displaying any shame whatsoever at present. It’s what Trump Derangement Syndrome does to a person, I guess:
