Germany’s ruling uniparty ought not to be so secure in thinking that the failure of the AfD to break out of its stronghold in the former East Germany means that the AfD is a receding force. Turns out that like Trump’s strong improvement in deep blue states like California and New York can also be detected in Germany. Someone had the bright idea to look at the vote shift to AfD western Germany, and it looks just like those Trump maps:
