The Tesla protests | Power Line

Apparently, the protests against Tesla car dealerships are a nationwide phenomenon. Politico reports,

Protesters rebelling against Elon Musk’s purge of US government swarm Tesla showrooms.

To paraphrase that old Marlon Brando movie, “What are they rebelling against? What do you got?” Politico elaborates,

The Tesla Takedown movement Saturday attempted to surround all 277 of the automaker’s showrooms and service centers in the U.S. in hopes of hitting Musk’s bottom line.

I’m not super familiar with Musk’s financial statements, but I’m guessing that you could take away Tesla, take away Twitter (X), and he’d still be a billionaire several times over from half a dozen other ventures. The man’s a beast.

Politico quotes a protestor at a San Francisco, CA, dealership,

“We’re living in a fascist state,” said Dennis Fagaly, a retired high school teacher from neighboring Oakland, “and we need to stop this or we’ll lose our whole country and everything that is good about the United States.”

Obviously, this nationwide protest effort has some nationwide organization(s) providing support. We’re not immune from the movement here in Minnesota and we have local media and the governor cheering it on. A columnist for the Minnesota Star Tribune writes this evening,

Every weekend, more Minnesotans show up at Tesla showrooms to stick it to Elon Musk.

Sticking it to the man. Personally, I’m hard pressed to think of a worse way to spend an early spring Saturday afternoon. “Protests” against Musk and Tesla have already escalated to vandalism and assaults on Tesla drivers.

President Trump won a decisive victory last November. It used to be we’d give the new guy at least 1o0 days or so to demonstrate what he can do. Now we go directly to violent revolution.

Let me know how that works out.
