Tim Burchett Delivers Mic Drop Response to ‘Gotcha’ Question About Trump Nat Sec Team – RedState

Democrats keep trying to make more hay about the Signal text chain story. That’s more than a little hypocritical on their part.

Yes, the Trump team admitted they made a mistake by somehow adding “The Atlantic” journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to the text chain. Democrats are all on fire for someone to get fired but President Donald Trump isn’t doing that, much to their chagrin.

The Democrats didn’t seem to give a darn when Joe Biden and his teams made consciously bad, policy decisions that got 13 American service members killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Biden refused to even accept that things went wrong insisting he was right, in a truly sociopathic response, unlike the Trump team. They still haven’t held people accountable.

So when his “tracker” tried to nail Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) with a “gotcha,” it didn’t quite go as the man would have liked.  “Do you trust Trump’s national security team to keep our war plans secret?” the “tracker” asked.

Tim Burchett’s epic reply,  “Do you trust your mother every night to fix your hot pockets and make sure your Game Boy is turned on?”

I think that one definitely wins the internet for the day. Talk about a mic drop; that was it. Burchett certainly could teach people a thing or two about how to respond to such questions. The funniest thing is that the tracker can’t post on the encounter without making himself look silly. So, he looked pretty sad after he was the one who was “got” at the end. He also didn’t even seem to get Burchett’s name right, referring to him as “Congressman Perry” (maybe meaning Scott Perry of Pennsylvania).

It’s true that the Trump team response and the Biden response to mistakes is very different. The Trump team just had a very successful attack on the Houthis, admitted it, and provided transparency. The Biden team still hasn’t accounted for getting people killed. Where are the questions for the Biden team? Where was the transparency about what happened? Why didn’t the Democrats care about that?

Democrat politicians only care about the Signal story now because they think it helps them. It’s gross and craven. The parents of the 13 dead were still looking for answers from the Biden team at the end of his time occupying the Oval Office. Hopefully, they might be able to get some more answers from the Trump team. Trump has been very helpful and has embraced them for years.

But people, including Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), loved Burchett’s response. Burchett has become known for his sharp wit.
