There’s a running joke among pro-lifers: we’re the “last-minute crowd.” Whether it’s donating, buying gala tickets, or showing up at marches and rallies – many of us do it at the very last minute. And that’s understandable! Like you, we all balance family, faith, work, and community obligations. Life is full – and rightly so.
About 48 years ago, I was running my own business, had a profound conversion back to my Catholic faith and became pro-life. I began to regularly donate to Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), Canada’s national pro-life organization.
I was impressed with how CLC boldly told the blunt truth about many crucial issues and developments that most people were unaware of. They woke me up to many things I previously did not know about! I was astonished.
As a young father with a growing family of beautiful, innocent young children, I was appalled by all that was being allowed to go on in Canada, the United States, and other nations, as reported in CLC’s monthly newsletters. I became powerfully motivated to try to do something to help.
Those regular donations led to a call from CLC president Jim Hughes, asking me if I could volunteer to help with a large media campaign they were about to run. That later led to my working full-time with CLC and 15 years after that, the founding of LifeSiteNews as one of their projects.
Why share this? Those donations to CLC transformed my life in ways I never imagined.
