Two people hospitalised after aircraft crashes in North Yorkshire as emergency services rush to the scene

Two people have been hospitalised following an airplane crash in North Yorkshire.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at Darlington just before 12pm today after the plane hit the ground.


It was carrying two passengers, both of whom are thought not to have serious injuries.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: “We were called to a report that a light aircraft had crashed near Dalton-on-Tees at about 11.50am today.

“North Yorkshire Police officers, supported by officers from Durham Constabulary, attended the scene along with the fire and ambulance services.

“Two men in the aircraft were taken to hospital for checks – however, they are not believed to have been seriously injured.

“We are liaising with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch to determine the full circumstances.”
