These videos are intended to illustrate opposite ends of the informed citizen spectrum. The first relates to the Feeding Our Future scandal, which many of our readers have followed. Bill Glahn is the American Experiment Policy Fellow who has reported on the scandal from the beginning, and yesterday we did a webinar in which I interviewed Bill on the second FoF trial, which Scott attended and reported on here. (Bill is also now a Power Line contributor.) So, for those who want a recap of where the scandal now stands and what it means for taxpayers not just in Minnesota, but nationally–these were federal tax dollars–we uploaded the webinar to YouTube, and here it is:
Now for the other end of the spectrum: Kaitlin Bennett went to a Florida beach to interview spring breakers on their knowledge of elementary civics, history and geography. The results are appalling. I always take these man in the street interviews with a grain of salt; presumably Bennett interviewed some young people who know how many senators there are, what states border Canada, and so on. But still. The ignorance of these young people is a testament to the utter incompetence, or worse, of our education system:
