Van Hollen reports | Power Line

Senator Chris Van Hollen met with the illegal alien he sought to visit in El Salvador and promptly reported at Dulles Airport upon his return. Someone set the backdrop for Van Hollen with the alien’s family members and apparent supporters of illegal immigration chanting in Spanish as they greet him. As for Van Hollen, TDS Blues (Make Him Wanna Van Hollen). I have posted video of the whole thing via Van Hollen’s X feed below.

Van Hollen is now on a first-name basis with “Kilmar.” Sounds like…kill more, but that is unfair. Unlike Senator Van Hollen, we are not on a first-name basis with him. Let’s call him Abrego Garcia.

Abrego Garcia is a deportable alien and reportedly a rough customer. El Salvador is his country. It’s not the United States. The wrong committed by the Trump administration, assuming it has done wrong, amounts to shipping him back home rather than finding another country in which to deposit him.

Van Hollen thinks he has found a worthy cause with which to rouse opposition to the Trump administration. Even the extras surrounding Van Hollen can barely feign their enthusiasm. Even they won’t do the job Americans refuse to do.

Van Hollen reported on his meeting with Abrego Garcia at about 10:00 of the video: “He said he was not afraid of the other prisoners in his immediate cell but that he was traumatized by being at CECOT and fearful of many of the prisoners in other cell blocks who called out to him and taunted him in various ways.”

I assume they called him names. They said rude things about him. They wondered why he hadn’t gotten out while the getting was good. And then the CECOT jailers wouldn’t even let him see the prison psychiatrist! (I made that up.)

I can’t help but wonder what word Abrego Garcia used. Did he actually claim he was “traumatized”? I doubt it. That’s Van Hollen making whatever he actually said sound fancy — something like “I was very scared” or “¡Estaba muy asustado!” You can rest assured that no member of the press at the event asked that question.

Perhaps the authorities heard Abrego Garcia’s complaint. They moved him to another to another detention center from CECOT last week, but he still has complaints: “He felt very sad about being in prison because he hadn’t committed any crimes.”

At about 16:40 of the video, by the way, Van Hollen condemns the Trump administration for “flaunting” the court order. “Flaunting” is the perfect word for Van Hollen’s performance, although “synthetic” also comes to mind. Check out the “Thank You Senator Van Hollen” signs that Van Hollen’s extras “flaunt” behind him.

The editors of the New York Post aren’t laughing. They size Van Hollen up in the editorial “Vile Van Hollen gets cozy with Kilmar Abrego Garcia and says ‘screw you’ to Rachel Morin’s mother.” They speak for me.
