At The Scroll, Park MacDougald declares this “the video of the day” (below). MEMRI provides this italicized explanation in an accompanying post: “Residents of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza protested against Hamas in a video circulated by Palestinian Activists on Telegram on March 25, 2025. The protesters demanded that Hamas release the Israeli hostages and stop the war. They stated that they reject Hamas’s rule and seek peace, not a rule of brute force. The protesters added that Hamas has caused destruction, killing, and displacement in the Gaza Strip, and as a result, the people reject Hamas’s rule.”

MEMRI quotes the translated voiceover of a reporter: “The multitudes in Beit Lahia have taken to the streets against the Hamas rule. What is happening in the Gaza strip is a catastrophe. The citizens here demand that [Hamas] release the [Israeli] prisoners, so that they can stay alive. Hamas demands that the people remain steadfast. How can they remain steadfast when they are dying? Hamas needs to stop what is happening in the Gaza Strip.”
I doubt we’ll be seeing anyone storming the ramparts at Columbia in support of these Gaza protesters.
